“I had vocal Cord surgery on Jan 2nd. Everything went smoothly according to the surgeon. I wasn’t in a large amount of pain afterwards but apparently my oxygen levels were low so the nurse kept telling me to take deeper breaths. I have asthma and I am a shallow breather and I felt fine. The monitor kept going off so I panicked and took several strained deep breaths over and over. The next day my neck, chest, and upper back were in spasm. I couldn’t take a deep breath and I felt like I had a gorilla on my chest. I also had a horrible headache (which I never get).
